New Series - "Singapore Seas"
“Sunlight on Sentosa waves” is the first painting in my Singapore Sea series. Having been inspired by the dramatic and ever changing cloud structure of Singapore’s tropical sky, I have now turned my attention to the powerful oceans surrounding this island. Artists have long drawn inspiration from the ocean, a unique living and mysterious entity, constantly moving and so difficult to wrestle with and capture on canvas. I hope my new works reflect the colours, power and depths of the Singapore Sea.
Original Works - "Singapore Skies"
A collection of abstract works exploring the nature of a man made high rise lifestyle within a dramatic, turbulent, tropical sky.
About the artist...
A busy and exciting career as a Scenic Artist has seen me creating work for many famous London and international venues. I have been lucky enough to be involved in incredibly varied and high profiles events and have painted large scale pieces for musicals, opera, ballet, events and movies, including many for Londons West End and for the opening ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics. My work has been seen on stage and screen all over the world. However, this is the first time I have chosen to exhibit my personal work. Pieces that I have created not to a set brief but purely for the joy of expression. I have drawn heavily on the techniques I have learnt from some of the best scenic artists in the world. It has been an organic and liberating experience. The very act of living amongst the clouds in the amazing architecture of Singapore has informed my paintings. The collision of man made and the raw power of nature, exotic, dramatic and tempestuous skies experienced so closely due to living so high and now expressed through layers and layers of paint, texture and inks.
